Sailing and rowing their boat they reached Oxford. They had pleasant two days there before the weather changed and they started from Oxford their homeward journey in the midst of a steady drizzle. The incessant rain tinged the surroundings with a dreary and gloomy hue which made their journey look quite somber. They kept on rowing through the rain in sad spirits. They wanted to end their river trip but nobody spoke of it. They hoisted the cover and had their lunch. Thus rowing in the rain they reached Days Lock. The rain made everything on boat terribly wet. The constant rain depressed their spirits. They just wanted to end their trip.

Finally, they decided to stop at Pang Bourne for the night. They decided to finish dinner by half-past six. After that they could walk about the village in the pouring rain until bed-time; or they could sit in a dimly-lit bar-parlour and read the almanac. Harris suggested they could go to the Alhambra.

So they left their boat with everything in it at Pang Bourne and instructed the boatman to keep the boat ready for next morning. They also told him if there would be any change in their plan they would write to him.

So they reached Paddington at seven, and drove direct a restaurant where they partook of a light meal, left Montmorency, together with suggestions for a supper to be ready at half-past ten, and went to Alhambra. They attracted everyone’s attention there because of their strange appearance. Their fine tanned faces and picturesque clothes were followed round the place with admiring gaze. They were the center of attraction.

Then they went back to the restaurant at Paddington, had a hearty hot dinner followed by burgundy. Next morning they caught a train to London.
