Firstly, we are angered by the injustice meted out to Harry by the Ministry of Magic, who not only probed into Harry's statement about the return of Voldemort, but also considered him a criminal for underage magic, without even investigating the matter. Here we are introduced to Dolores Umbridge, who is possibly the most hated character in the series, even more than Voldemort himself. Every step that Umbridge takes is hated by the reader. We are disgusted by her many degrees, and her irrational hatred towards Harry. At the same time, we are exposed to a different part of teenage Harry Potter, where we see him going through the general teenage experiences despite the oncoming loom, the most evident part is his relationship with Cho Chang. Last but not the least, we get to know the reason for Severus Snape's hatred towards James Potter and his pals, and we get a new overlook regarding the Marauders.
