Natural disasters are the disasters caused by natural forces. These disaster werck life and property when they strike. There were several types of natural disaster.

Flood

A flood occurs when the amount of water in a river or steamer exceed its capacity to carry water.

Causes of flood:-

Floods are caused when rivers overflow and also submerge the areas surrounding them.

Typhoons with strong tides or stroms in the sea can cause flood.

Effect of flood:-

Floods cause damage to life, property and crops. water logging for several days cause diseases such as cholera and dengue in areas hit by floods.

Drought

Droughts occurs when there is very little or no rain.

Causes of drought:-

Rivers, Ponds lakes and other water bodies get dried.

There is scarcity flood & fodder.

Effect of drought

Farmers are the worst affected during a drought. They are unable to grow crops due to lack of water. this lead to a shortage of food leading to a famine.
