As Tom begins the dreaded task of whitewashing,he sees Ben Rogers approaching . When Ben teases Tom about not being able to go swimming and being forced towork ,Tom paints out that it is not exactly work he is enjoying himself, and he makes a great show of applying whitewash and the stepping back to admire his own effects. When Ben wants to try his hand at whitewashing .Tom pretends to be reluctant untill Ben offers hi first core of apple and then the entire apple.Other boys show up--" boys who came th jeer, but remained to whitewash "and by the middle of the afternoon the fence was whitewashed(by the other boys ) Tom finds himself a rich man, having collected marbles ,a part of Here's harp,a kite and many other items as the payment from the boys doing the work

Answer:

Tom was forced to whitewash a fence which was thirty yards broad and nine feet high. As it was a  Saturday and all the other boys were off to have fun, Tom being smarter than the other boys,  managed to engage them to do the work for him pretending that whitewashing the fence was not a  task but a pleasure. He soon had his friends asking him to let them share in his pretended enjoyment.  He refused at first saying that it required special skill, but in the end they were convinced to do the  entire job. I too believe in the same law of human action as human psychology is such that if any  work is made difficult to achieve, then they are attracted towards it and try to achieve it by proving  their skills
