when aurangzeb was the ruler he was a very powerful ruler he also gave the right to the company to trade duty free but when aurangzeb died he was followed by murshid quli khan , alivardi khan and sirajuduallah respectively ?all these claimed them the nawabs . they all were very strong . they refused to give the copany concessions ,took large tribute from the company to give them right to trade ,denied the right to mint coins , to stop its fortifications . the company thought that the unjust demands of the nawabs are leading to the downfall of its trade . they also started them giving disrespectfull letters .after the death of alivardi khan sirajuduallah became the nawab. the company officials were interfearing in his political affairs . sirajuduallah told them to not meddle in their political affairs .he too also negotiated with them but it did not work. the nawabs had to march with 30,000 soldiers to their factory in kazimbazaar . there they unarmed all englishmen , capture the company officials and also controlled over their fort in calcutta .when the company got to know all about tis they too marched whith soldiers under the command of robert clive and ed to the famous battle of plassey. there sirajuduallah was defeated and this was the first victory of the company . thereason of the defeat of sirajuduallah was that robert clive had promised mir jafar the commander of the the force of sirajudaullah that he will make him the nawab if he did not fight the war and this happened . this is how trade led to battels.

In the beginning of the 18th century the conflict between the company and the nawabs of Bengal intensified.

Murshid Quli Khan, Alivardi Khan and Sirajudullah proved to be strong rulers they refused to grant the company concessions, denied it any right to mint coins ,and stopped it from extending its fortifications.

The accused the company of deceit and claimed that the company was depriving the Bengal Government of huge amounts of revenue. they also accused that it was undermining the authority of the Nawab.

the company refused to pay taxes, road disrespectful letters, and tried to humiliate the Nawab and his officials.

company realised trade khud flourish only if the duties were removed. it was also convinced that to expand trade it had to enlarge its settlements build up villages and rebuild its forts.

This conflicts lead to confrontations and finally culminated in the famous battle of Plassey.

Hope it helps you☺️☺️
