How did tribal peasants and the peasants of Assam interpreted the idea of swaraj..?

1) For the plantation workers in Assam , swaraj meant the right to move out of thier enclosed areas of work .
2) They interpreted swaraj as the right to retain a link with the village from which they came .
3) Plantation workers were not allowed to leave the tea gardens without permission and were rarely given permission. this all took place under the Inland Emigration Act of  1859 .
