During the period between 1300 and 1750 CE trade expanded rapidly between Europe, North Africa and Asia. Commerce expanded within countries as well, with different kinds of goods being traded. The growth of trade also saw the growth of cities in the three countries. New cities were born and older cities expanded. People traveled more between cities, leading to an exchange and spread of new ideas, inventions and technologies.
