hey,
The Dust Bowl was a period of severe dust storms that greatly damaged the ecology and agriculture of the American and Canadian prairies during the 1930s; severe drought and a failure to apply dryland farming methods to prevent the aeolian processes (wind erosion) caused the phenomenon.

As there was arrival of new technologies in USA for making Prairie soil the better one for cultivation. Farmers in the Great Plains were using tractors and disk ploughs to break the ground and prepares it for wheat cultivation.
In 1930s, dust storms began to blow in southern plains. Black Blizzards rolled in and rose like waves of muddy water. These blizzards were about 7000 to 8000 feet high and occured frequently. Due to this, the skies became dark and breathing, eating, drinking, etc. were becoming difficult. It blinded and chocked the people. Cattle and fishes suffocated to death. Even the machines clogged with dust and damaged.
Ordinary dust storms became the Black Blizzard because the entire landscape had been plucked. The worst blizzard occured on 14th April, 1935.
Hope it may helps u...!!!☺
