How did viceroy mountbatten divide the regions of India and pakistan

Hi.
Lord Mountbatten after assuming the post of the viceroy on 24 march 1947.
He proposed his plan known as Mountbatten's plan in which he proposed the Division of India into two dominions India and Pakistan. For that he called a meeting in which he conmenced Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru towards the partion.After the meeting it was concluded that partion will be must and pakistan was given the control of North west frontiers province and sindh also the district of sylhet after the special meeting and the east bengal.
