Vilasrao Salunkhe took 16 hectares of uncultivable land on a Hillside and lease from the Temple Trust of Naya Gaon a drought prone village he and his family shifted to Pune city to live in a hut on the land with the help of final year of engineering students and retired engineers he raised bumps along Hillside to trap rainwater and stop soil erosion he also constructed percolation tank at the base of the hill and a well for drawing water further down water wash pump out of the well to irrigate the farm Area on the hill slope
