Our country was ruled by the British government untill the year of 1947.

During this British rule, Gandhiji protested a lot with various non violent behaviours.

One of this most famous agendas is the "Salt march of Dandi" which is also known as the "Civil disobedience movement",in the year of 1930.

The women population also joined in this movement, because;

1)Salt is the essential component for cooking,and at that time period,mostly women were in-charge of household kitchens.

That's why when British government prohibited the Indian salt production,the women also got their motivation to join such movements.

2)Women population were heavily convinced by the Gandhi's speech and motivation.

In this way the women population also became the part of "Civil disobedience movement".
