Answer:

Dussehra is one of the most well-known and highly celebrated holidays in India. Even though it is a Hindu festival but in a secular country like India, people from various religions enjoy themselves in a united way. On Dussehra, the streets are decorated with bright lights, and songs are played from loudspeakers that come from all directions and mix to create beautiful chaos along with the voices and cheers of the people who crowd the street to have a good time. Delicious roadside street foods and small souvenirs are sold by vendors during the ten days of Navratri.

On Dussehra, maximum trade occurs because everyone wants to enjoy the last day of that festival and holiday. But India is a country where festivals are frequent, and every year the end of Autumn and Winter observes most of these festivals. Therefore on Vijayadashami, which is celebrated on the same day as Dussehra in Bengal and Orissa, people might be bidding goodbye to Maa Durga but only to welcome Maa Kaali and celebrate Diwali just after two weeks.

Answer:

I went to Bhopal to my uncle's place during the Dushera holidays. I enjoyed the lovely sights and scenery while travelling in the train. My elder brother and I had hot samosas and cool drinks on the railway station. My uncle and aunt came to pick us up at the railway station.

I met my cousins and played with them. We went to the zoo and enjoyed riding on the toy train. One day we went for a picnic.

Another day my uncle took us for shopping. He bought nice gifts for us and gave it to us for Dushera. My aunt performed puja for nine days. She used to give us lovely puris, chana and halwa as prasadam. She also made nice things to eat. One day we went for a birthday party in the neighbour's house..

On Dushera day we wore new clothes and went to the park to see the burning of the effigy of Ravana. My uncle told me that this is done because it is believed that Lord Rama killed Ravana on Vijayadasami day.

In this way ten days passed very quickly and it was time for me to return. My elder brother and I came back home on the next day.
