swallow was able to live in so much cold because she was helping poor people by taking rubies sapphires and gold leaves from the happy prince to people who needed it really.she had to go to Europe but she didnt go and stayed with prince to help him in his kingdom even if he was dead.  she was doing a great deed and because of that only her will to live increased and also god gave her more strength .....but at the end she had to die cause they are not habitable to so much cold.
