Answer:

As the food travels through the various parts of alimentary canal, it gradually gets digested. During the passage  of food through alimentary canal, the various glands (salivary glands, liver, pancreas) and inner walls of stomach and small intestine, secrete digestive juices.

Explanation:

Alimentary canal extends from mouth to rectum.

Our mouth consists of salivary glands which release tyalin(digests the carbohydrates)

Our stomach releases gastric juices which contain hydrochloric acid and pepsin enzyme. pepsin works only in the presence of hcl and digest proteins.

Our small intestine starts with duodenum . it receives secretions from liver and pancreas.

liver release bile juice ( digest fats)

pancreas release pancreatic juices which contain trypsin, lipase, amylase.

these enzymes helps. in digesting proteins, fats and carbohydrates totally.

Our intestine releases intestinal juices which digest peptides and sucrases.

hope it helps you.......
