how DNA copies are separated from each other and why they are need to be separated ?

The first step in DNA replication is toseparate or unzip the two strands ofthe double helix. ... Once the strands are separated, an enzyme called DNApolymerase copies each strand usingthe base-pairing rule. The two strands are not exactly copied thesame way.

both in father and in mother we have 23 pair of chromosomes. (DNA is unit of chtosome) 22 pair is same and 23rd pair is diffrent it is call as sex chrosomes. during formation of zygote these pair got seperated from each other and form single chrosomes as zygote .
