EXAMPLE -

HCl + H2O → H3O+ + Cl-

In the above examples we get hydronium and chlorine ions.

Bases when dissolved in water gives ions.

Example-

H2O + Na → OH- + Na+

In the above example, we get the ions of hydroxide and sodium.

Strong Acids

The acids which completely disassociate in water are called strong Acids.

Example- HCl

Strong Base

The bases which completely disassociate in water are called strong bases.

Example- NaOH
