Explain

In general, acids react with metals to give salt and release hydrogen gas. In general, bases do not react with metals and release hydrogen gas.

Acids( eg: HCl) react with active metals(K) to give salt(KCl) and hydrogen(H2).

Bases(eg: NaOH) react with Amphoteric metals(Zn) to give their salt(Na2ZnO2) and Hydrogen(H2)
