How do advertisements make us irrational?

Advertisements normally,if not always,exaggerate the benefits of the products.Most of the times when we see such advertisements, we have an urge to buy that product and benefit from it. If a person argues on the quality of the product, we sometimes sneer at him/her and tell him or her about the models or actors who have benefitted from it.True, the product may not always be of bad quality,but we forget that they are paid for this job and most people will do anything to get a good salary.In this way,we waste a lot of time,money and energy.Thus,we need to act sensibly on such matters and not get impractical.
