Disk Brakes work on the same principle as the hydraulic brakes mentioned in the video, however their mode of operation is quite different. The brakes in the video are applied from inside and act on a drum but disk brakes work on the rotor of the wheel.
In Drum breaks, the drum located inside the wheel expands and slows it down but in Disk Brakes two break pads apply pressure on the wheel from the outside.
The pressure in both cases is applied by hydraulic pistons.
