Bats are the animals which produces ultrasonic soUnd waves i.e., sound waves having frequench more that 20K Hz.

When they produce these sounds, then, due to the reflecting propertY of sound waves, they reflect backs if they strikes a surface, thus, due to this the sound waves again reaches the bat and they predicts what type of surface it was? If it was a prey, then, they hunt for it and if it was a hard surface such as a concrete wall, they, evade striking on it.
