how do chemical ferilisers affect the soil, ground, water,rivers and lakes .what were its effects in punjab.

as we know some of the most biggest land known for agriculture is punjab 
as for incresing the ,amount for groth of plants farmers add manure and fertilizers. but nowerdays  farmers use fertilizers as it is cheaper than manure. the fertilizers contains many harmfull chemicals that could harm the plant soil water sources. so we could say that fertilizers are harmfull for both plants and humans and farmers should avoide the use of the fertilizers
