Competition is defined as striving to gain or achieve by defeating or gaining superiority over others. Whereas, cooperation is the concept of working together at the same end.

Both concepts might seem contrary but work well together in the society as both have significance one way or another.

Competition may be important in order to create a sense of motivation for the people. It is a basic human psyche that it has a wish to achieve and attain more. This psyche can be utilized positively by creating the motivation in the people.

Cooperation is important for a society as unity has more impact than individual efforts. If everyone works for one cause with cooperation. Achieving a goal is quicker and easier than one man working on it individually.

What is important for positive results is the balance between competition and cooperation. People must know when any of these is needed. They need to use one whenever required than completely following just one.

Answer:

Competition is the act of trying to exceed the other person on the same thing.

Cooperation is the act of coming together to develop the existence.

With competition, the society grows rapidly since there are many individuals trying to outdo the others in particular areas.

It does also do away with the monopoly as many people deal in the same thing and in different way.
