Here are the effects of concrete surfaces on availability of ground water:-
(i) The concrete surfaces are non-porous.
(ii) This means that the concrete surfaces do not allow water to pass through it .
(iii) Thus the water is not stored as groundwater .
(iv) On the other hand groundwater is continuously used up by us.
(v) This leads to a decrease in the availability of the groundwater .
(vi) However water is stored in the concrete surfaces and can be utilized for our benefit .
Hope it helps !
