Covalent bonds form between multiple atoms as a result of sharing of electrons.
Let us understand it with an example of Methane.
In methane(CH4), One Carbon form covalent bonds with 4 Hydrogen by sharing of electrons.
In methane, there is 4 Sigma (head to head overlapping of orbitals) bond found.

*Sigma bonds are stronger than pi (side by side overlapping of orbitals) bonds.*
