Democracies support social divisions in the following ways:

1. It presents an opportunity for a peaceful civil life. For instance, in Belgium, the distinctions between ethnic communities were accommodated.

2. No community can permanently settle disputes but democracy produces the possibility to accommodate the disagreements and compromise on what is suitable for everyone.

3. Non-democratic governments ordinarily simply neglect internal obstacles or crush them.

4. Democracy guarantees inclusion of all group such as minorities and its concerns in the choice making.

5. Democracy whereby lessens the possibilities of inconsistencies or disputes becoming agitated.
