Democracy accommodates social diversity as it allows for equality, fair representation to all irrespective of their caste, creed, colour, race, religion, language or place of residence.
It also ensures that the government should not be made just by the rule of majority but it should have the adequate representation of minorities too.
Democracy is best form of government to accommodate social diversities if it fulfils some basic conditions. They are:
free and fair elections
majority rule should not be in terms of religion or race or linguistic groups
majority should always work in consonance with the minority

Democracy accommodates numerous social divisions:
- It offers an opportunity for a pleasant social life.
- No society can forever resolve differences but democracy offers the opportunity to negotiate the differences and resolve on what is better for everyone.
- Non-democratic commands usually just ignore the internal problems or overpower it.
- Democracy ensures annexation of every group comprising minorities and its interests in the decision making.
