Different areas in North America regulate emissions to non metal oxides. It is pertinent to mention here that all non metals form covalent oxides with oxygen which in turn reacts with water leading to the formation of acids and even with baes so as to form salts.

Same is the case with all the different areas in North America as they regulate emissions to non metal oxides.
