Dear Student,

Q. How do fatty acids enter Krebs’ Cycle ?

  • By the process of beta-oxidation, fatty acids are first converted to acetyl group.
  • With the help of connecting link, acetyl group is converted to form acetyl Co-A.
  • This acetyl Co-A enters as a substrate in Krebs cycle.

Extra information -

  • Krebs cycle is common pathway for oxidation of carbohydrates, proteins & fatty acids.
  • It is also known as Citric Acid cycle or Tricarboxylic Acid (TCA) cycle.
  • It takes place in mitochondria.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
