How do fishes obtain oxygen from water? Why is the rate of respiration more in aquatic fishes?

fishes obtain oxygen dissolved with the help of gills present on the neck of fishes...

as the amount of oxygen dissolved in the water is less henceforth to meet the  oxygen need of the body ,,, their respiration rate is higher.... in fishes..
