Forest has an important role to maintain our water cycle.

Roots which bind soil help in percolation process and therefore aid water percolation. Organic matters which are present in soil increase its absorbance property.

Forest provides cool temperature to surface because of its shades by trees which help in reducing evaporation process and allow water to absorb more. This process also helps in reducing soil erosion problem and help in great filtration of water to provide good quality of water.
