Answer:

Explanation:

FOSSILS ARE DEAD REMAINS OF ORGANISMS THAT LIVED AT SOME TIME  ON EARTH.

THE FOSSILS OF ORGANISMS THAT LIVED LONG BEFORE ARE FOUND DEEP INSIDE THE SOIL.

DUE TO WEATHERING A NEW LAYER OF SAND IS FORMED WHICH FOSSILISES THE ORGANISMS DEAD BODY. AND SIMILAR LAYERS ARE FORMED .THIS MAY TAKE MILLIONS OF YEARS.

THE FOSSILS FOUND DEEP INSIDER THE SOIL ARE MUCH OLDER THAN THAT FOUND ON THE TOP SOIL.

HOPE THIS HELPS.

Answer:

Explanation:

Fossils are formed in a number of different ways, but most are formed when a plant or animal dies in a watery environment and is buried in mud and silt. Soft tissues quickly decompose leaving the hard bones or shells behind. Over time sediment builds over the top and hardens into rock.
