How do frogs lay their eggs?

the female frog lays eggs/ova(femal gametes) in pond or any place they live. At the same time the male frog produces sperm cells. Then these gametes of female and male travels through the water to get fertilised. However they face many challenges during this time. So, the production is of a large number but, less can survive.
