how do grass look green ...papaya yellow and edible part of watermelon is red???give reason??

this different color all fruit and leafs of the plant depends upon the presence of the plastied in the cells of the plant...that give rise to the color in it...

 ✯ the grass looks green because of presence of chlorophyll. ( these are capable of photosynthesis.)

 ✯ the fruits such as papaya and edible part of watermelon have got their color from chromoplast. ( these have got pigements in them which provide color such as red, yellow and orange. )

note: when there is a question about roots or starch write leucoplast as answer.
