How do group 8 elements differ from other elements in periodic table

group 8 or 18 . Group 18 has inert gases in it which has attained stable electronic configuration already and the other group elements are not stable and they loose or gain electrons to become stable. The elements which loose electrons become positively charged and elements which gain electrons become negatively charged. Group 8 elements are transition elements

As the group 8 elements are Noble gases & their octate is complete, they have no free electron.
