The main difference between Health and Hygiene is that the Health is a level of functional or metabolic efficiency of a living being and Hygiene is a set of practices performed for the preservation of health.

➥ Health

Health is the ability of a biological system to acquire, convert, allocate, distribute, and utilize energy sustainably. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined human health in a broader sense in its 1948 constitution as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." This definition has been subject to controversy, in particular as lacking operational value, the ambiguity in developing cohesive health strategies and because of the problem created by use of the word "complete", which makes it practically impossible to achieve. Other definitions have been proposed, among which a recent definition that correlates health and personal satisfaction. These challenges with definitions has motivated the emergence of a conceptualization (an effort to translate ideas into words, acknowledging their limitations), which considers health as the ability to adapt and manage the physical, mental and social challenges we face through life .

➥ Hygiene

Hygiene is a set of practices performed to preserve health.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases." Personal hygiene refers to maintaining the body's cleanliness.

Many people equate hygiene with 'cleanliness,' but hygiene is a broad term. It includes such personal habit choices as how frequently to bathe, wash hands, trim fingernails, and change clothing. It also includes attention to keeping surfaces in the home and workplace, including bathroom facilities, clean and pathogen-free.

Some regular hygiene practices may be considered good habits by a society, while the neglect of hygiene can be considered disgusting, disrespectful, or threatening.
