If the atom is neutral ,i.e it doesn't have any charge =>
Number of protons = Atomic number
Number of electrons = number of protons
Number of neutrons = Atomic mass - Number of protons .
Example => Oxygen
Atomic mass of oxygen = 16
Atomic number = 8
Therefore,
number of protons = 8
Number of electrons = 8
number of neutrons = 16 - 8
= 8
