Dear Diary,
I am perhaps one of the luckiest daughters ever! I mean, I witnessed my mother's wedding! My mother got married to Albert uncle, at last. I can't tell you how happy I am for her. I have never seen her so happy ever since papa left us. She told me how this has changed nothing between us and that I am going to be her first preference no matter what. When I saw uncle and her pose for photos after the ceremony, they both looked like their dreams had come true. I am so glad my mother showed the guts to do this, in spite of what all nonsense my relatives told about her.
That's all for now, diary.
Yours,
Ruby

Dear Diary
Today, my mother showed me her wedding album and told me about how her wedding took place this day twenty years ago. It was the second time she was seeing my dad after their engagement. The wedding took place in a temple in Kerala according to the Hindu Brahmin tradition. She was dressed in the traditional red madisar sari sitting on her father’s lap. My dad tied the chain of wedlock around her neck.
There were a lot of events before the actual wedding and after. One such event before the wedding was my Dad pretending to go on a pilgrimage without wanting to getting married. My grandfather had to go behind him and plead him to come back. Likewise after marriage, both of them were seated on a swing together and asked to put their hands into a pot of water and asked to fish out a ring that was in the pot. They had to compete with one another to see who would get the ring.
It all sounded so exciting that I wished I was a part of the wedding to see the function myself!
