How do illiteracy, inequality and poverty adversely affect the functioning of Indian democracy?
Answers
if a countrys democracy will not perform well and people will not get their right the countrys democracy will fail
Illiteracy; Inequality; Poverty:
Poverty is a major evil which leads to two other evils such as illiteracy and inequality.
For example, when a person is poor, he/she cannot afford to go school while he/she goes to work or finds other ways to get their daily food for themselves and their family members. The inequality in the social and financial status prevents the people in poverty from living their life of normal Indian citizens.
The democracy involves leading people by the people, all the people. In a democratic country, people have the responsibility to serve the nation. But due to poverty with inequality and illiteracy, people are undergoing so much pressure that they are easily deviated from their responsibility as Indian citizen.
For example, corruption, child labor, honor killing, female infanticide, dowry, and so on.
