How do increasing number of industries create pressure on existing fresh water resources?

as the number of industries increase
because the waters discharged by the industries are not treated and it contains several chemicals
which creates pressure

As the increasing number of industries water is being polluted because the water not being treated and mixing with fresh water sources that's why there is a pressure on fresh water sources
