Insects occur as vector or what you call "carrier" of many diseases. They can transmit by either getting infected or not getting infector at all. For example, a mosquito is a disease carrying insect which can transmit malaria from one person to other. Malaria completes its stages first in a mosquito and then the other stage in man. So, if a healthy mosquito bites an infected malarial patient it can get infected itself and will tranfer the disease to a healthy individual by biting it. I hope this helped.
