Interferons are proteins which are released by non infected cells in response to virus attack to protect themselves from the same.

Interferon may:

1)slow down or stop the cancer cells from dividing.

2)reduce the ability of the cancer cells to protect themselves from the immune system

3)strengthen the immune system.

Cheers!
