How do large molecules affect diffusion?

According to Fick’s first law of diffusion, the diffusion through a cell membrane occurs when molecules from an area of higher concentration move to an area of lower concentration to achieve equilibrium on both sides of the membrane. Larger molecules diffuse through a cell membrane at a slower rate than do smaller ones.
