how do longitude and latitude affect climate and difference between latitude? If you don't mind, why is it cooler at the poles and hotter at the equator?

Latitude and Longitude. ... Latitudehas a big effect on climatebecause latitude controls how much solar energy a location receives. The tropics, which areplaces on or near the equator, arewarm all year long because they get about the same amount ofsunlight during the year.
There are several factors that influence the amount of sunshine received at various places on the earth. The major factor is that while the sun is overhead at theequator, it is at a rather slant angle at the poles. This effect can be demonstrated using a torch, which can be taken as the sun.
