Mendel when took two different character traits in pea plants , that is , pea colour ( green and yellow ) and pea shape ( round and wrinkled )/then observed that traits which were formed are transmitted in same ratio as they were in the case of single trait , that is , recessive = 25% and dominant =75% . thus , it showed that traits transmitted independently .
