In order to conform whether the given character is dominant or recessive, you need to observe heterozygous individuals(PHENOTYPE)
-For example let us consider Height as a character and Alleles for this Character T,t
suppose if we want to know which one is dominant, observe the plant's phenotype.
If it is tall, T is dominant. if it is small, t is dominant
In heterozygous individuals, though both the alleles are present in genotype, only dominant allele will be expressed.
