how do mendel's experiment show that traits may be dominant or recessive

mendel took garden pea as his test subject and took one character say pea with homozygous yellow seeds and pea with homozygous green seeds .......... he crossed both the plants with each other and saw its result in F1 progeny..........all the plants in the F1 gen had yellow seeds ....... when he crossed the progenies of F1 gen... ...... he got 25% plants with green seeds but 75% still had yellow seeds ....... this shows that the yellow seed was a dominant trait and green seed was a recessive one
