Metal carbonate or metal hydrogen carbonate + acid gives metal salt + CO2 + H2O

Na2CO3 + 2HCl gives 2NaCl + CO2 + H2O

2NaHCO3 + H2SO4 gives Na2SO4 + 2CO2 + 2H2O

Answer: When metal carbonate and metal hydrogen carbonate reacts with acid salt, carbon dioxide and water is formed. That is-

Metal carbonate/ Metal hydrogen carbonate + Acid = Salt + Carbon dioxide
