the acid react with metal carbonates and metal hydrogen carbonate to produce salt, water and carbon dioxide.
Example:-
1) 2HCl+Na2CO3→2NaCl+H2O+CO2
2) HCl+NaHCO3→NaCl+H2O+CO2

Snehasen: the answer is different from the question
ReetChauhan1112: what is different
ReetChauhan1112: ?????
Snehasen: I asked how do metal carbonate bt......the answer seems what do metal carbonate
Snehasen: ????
ReetChauhan1112: actually
ReetChauhan1112: it is one and the same thing
ReetChauhan1112: the answer is correct actually
Snehasen: okkk dear

Answer: The equations are given below.

Explanation:

Metal carbonates are designated as MCO_3, where M is the metal

Metal hydrogen carbonates are designated as MHCO_3, where M is the metal.

The reactions of metal carbonates and metal hydrogen carbonates with acid HX are:

MCO_3+2HX\rightarrow MX_2+CO_2+H_2O

Metal carbonates on reaction with acid releases a salt, carbon dioxide and water.

MHCO_3+HX\rightarrow MX+CO_2+H_2O

Metal hydrogen carbonates on reaction with acid releases a salt, carbon dioxide and water.

Hence, the equations are given above.
