When electric voltage is applied, an electric field within the metal triggers the movement of the electrons, making them shift from one end to another end of the conductor. Electrons will move toward the positive side. Metal is a good conduction of heat.

Metals conduct electricity because most metals are POSITIVELY charged (Na+,Ca+)

So, they will receive an electron, but then because they are unstable now, they will eject the electron, passing it to another atom. For heat... idk lol. This answer might be wrong because I suck so yeah.... read at your own risk :\
