How do metals and non metals react with water

Hey there !

Non-metals don't usually react with water but the non-metal oxides do react with water and they produce acids. One example is chlorine gas (chlorine oxide) reacts with clouds (water) to form acids which come down as acid rain.

Hope it helps you !

Metal react with water and produce ametal oxide and hydrogen gas.metaloxide that are soluble in water dissolve in it to further form metal hydroxide. But all metal do not react with water. ... Magnesium does react with coldwater. It react with hot water to form magnesium hydroxide and hydrogen
